mental health Services: military members and family

At La Jolla Psychology Center, we provide comprehensive mental health services for active duty and retired military members and their families. With over ten years of experience, our clinicians treat conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD, and offer medication management. We work closely with patients and their families to deliver high-quality, long-term support tailored to their unique needs.

We understand that depression and anxiety can deeply affect daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. Military families face distinct challenges, including combat-related stress and long separations, which can impact emotional health. Finding appropriate mental health care can be difficult both in San Diego and beyond, so we are committed to offering accessible and effective treatment.

Our goal is to help service members and their loved ones find the right path to healing, resilience, and improved quality of life through compassionate and personalized care.

WHAT PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE FOR MILITARY FAMILIES IN SAN DIEGO?

  1. Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy helps identify the root causes of anxiety and depression and teaches coping strategies. Common forms include individual, group, and play therapy, as well as approaches like Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. It is often combined with medication for effective treatment.

  2. Neuropsychological Evaluations

Neuropsychological evaluations assess an individual’s thinking, behavior, and emotional functioning through standardized tests. The results help guide accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.

  3. Post-Partum Depression Treatment

Post-partum depression affects some new mothers after childbirth, causing mood swings, anxiety, insomnia, and other depressive symptoms. Consulting a doctor can help mothers understand their symptoms and create a treatment plan that supports both their recovery and their baby’s well-being.
